Three!I've finally persuaded two nice ladies of my acquaintance to come to Malestrom and give me a hand with the Vengeance thing. My character was always designed to be one of three, the other two having taken their sweet time getting here...
So, what advice should I give my friends on playing an Eidolon generally, and what do people think about Loyal Eidolons working in teams? Anything I can tell them to make the whole process easier?

Hell hath no *fury* like a woman.
Incidently, have you seen the one-off Sandman spin-off comic 'The Furies,' (about what they get up to after killing Dream of the Endless)? I recommend it.

Eidolons Working together?
... Fallen!
Dunno actually, in three years in the Religion game I've never really seen a coordinated unit of loyals (aside from the good old NPC army of God, and one or two incidents). For the most part relentless and coordinated multi-Eidolon attacks it is a mark of the Fallen.
Frankly, I think it should have been done alot more than it has, it's one of the reasons I believe (alongside general attitude and balls) that for so long the Fallen where viewed as "unstoppable killing machines" and the loyals where viewed as useless.
I think a general principle of "follow my lead and cover my back!" and "Him! Get Him!" will be all you'll need for most attacks, perhaps comming in from three directions at the same time. However more, I think just generally getting in the habit of meeting up and doing the "active stuff" together (as opposed to talky and information gathering stuff, which is often better done alone).
I have an image of you three meeting in the Maelstrom pocket saying and one saying "You know, I've found a sinner...", and the other two saying "Really... well lets go meet him then.." and then immediately heading off to dispense Righteous Vengeance and Justice. (as opposed to the unrighteous kind)
If anything, the usual "Playing an Eidolon is the hardest thing in the system..." speil. Frankly... you know how to play a loyal with respect better than pretty much everyone else.
For those two in particular, perhaps one question you might want to encourage them to think about is how they think they could develop a character that exists outside of Angelique's shadow. I think the hardest thing about playing one of the bloody blades of the Huntress is the fact you've already got there and made such a big and noticeable impact.
The three furies does indeed sound like an awesome prospect, esp with the inevitable Divine commandment to "Shut the Bloody Arethusa up"
(Wow I managed to get through the whole post without making a comment about Vengeance and Justice both getting girlfriends...)

Other suggestions
- matching kit. A uniform appearance is very effective
- a refinement on the above, kit that masks which player is which (e.g. ringwraith robes, through that may not be appropiate). This means people can't tell which one is the enpowered one, so can't risk shouting any of them until they get in close
- if they are new to larp try to get them some weapon practice, and practice fighting as a group. (e.g. not getting scattered, especially in the dark)
- ok, may not be entirely relevent given your concept, but have a discussion about the depths of the huntress/bubastis/etc. faith. If a mortal asks you to explain a tenant to them or resolve a theological question it helps to be ready for it.
e.g. 'if a murderer has a small child who he loves, by killing the murderer we cause the innocent child to suffer hardship and deprive it of a loving parent, which is itself a wrongdoing for which we must be punished. What should we do?'
e.g. 'there is this bald heretic in a nappy saying "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind", but he is a peaceful and has done no wrong to any mortal. what should we do about it?'

Toys who fix themselves after you've broken them...nice. I look forward to meeting the new recruits IC

Well, we're not going for matching kit, mostly because one of the ways we're planning to keep out of each other's shadow is keeping the three of us as very distinct characters. I'd already bagsed avenging murder, so Paula is on unceasing destruction, and Lou is taking grudging spite and jealousy.
I'm also loath to advise them to swot up on their theological debating skills... The best way I found to still look scary when asked a stupidly complex theological question is not to answer it . I always tell people to find a priest, for which the priests hate me mightily

As someone who loves stupidly complex theological questions (I find it almost impossible to play a character who isn't in someway philosophical), I do agree that sometimes there is no better answer than:
"GOD WILLS IT!"

That's cool... wait that implies that Lies isn't unceasingly violent enough as it is...
I would suggest perhaps nudging them over here so they'll get a brief overview of the coolthings and potential problems of playing an Angel, and also to meet chat to the people they're probably going to be stabbing at somepoint.
However there is the worry they could be somewhat drowned in froth.

I was going to nudge them over here, specifically to read the 'Scrutiny' thread, and the 'Respect and the single Eidolon' thread both here and on Rule7.
Any other threads people think are essential reading for experienced larpers trying an Eidolon for the first time? One of them is also playing the Maelstrom system for the first time, so all advice is welcome

Umm... no more threads really spring to mind.
However, definitely give them a good chance to read thoughrally through the Maelstrom Rulebook and esp the Eidolon Briefing material and rules, so they get a chance to think about the *implications* of the rules, not just knowing the rules themselves.
Make sure they fully understand terms like "Enshrinement" "Enstomement" and how soul pacts work (even if they don't intend to use them much)
Unfortunately it is really noticeable (to me at least) when an Eidolon makes a cock up of their own biology.
Make sure they know what all the Combat effects* and magic effects are... cus they're going to be on the receiving end or almost all of them
If you (as an experienced eidolon player with a clue) can sit down with them and explain any questions (dedicate an evening to it at the pub/at home with some drinks if possible) that would be probably very good.
Interestingly soul speak/gift of tongues and who can hear/talk seems to cause the most confusion, despite the fact it's actually in the corerulebook (admitidly in the unexpected place of a Nercomantic cantrip http://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/rules/rules.asp?NavID=86
Edit - Upon rereading this post comes across as slightly harsher than it's intended to be.

I'm not, I'm lovely. Meanie.
This is perhaps something more relevant to a Devotee in the Church game than one of the "Lady of Vengeance's Fire and Forget Hunter-Killer Angels".
One thing which isn't necessarily obvious upon the first skim read of the Almanac and briefing material is that the Religions of Maelstrom are very much ethical systems, the Faiths tell you how you should behave, not how the world works.
Evil isn't some nebulous cosmological force that opposes the Gods, it's what happens when you don't follow the tenants of the Gods.
There shouldn't be a base of 20th century mortality with "extra smiting/not giving to charity/being very lawful" etc etc, instead there are five* pillars of quite distinct methods of ethical thought (although all five* have lots of room for personal interpretation).
Technically the "non-devoted but faithful", with their slightly lukewarm respect of all five True and Holy Faiths* probably looks vaguely like a bit edgyer version of 20th century morality.
However as a serious devotee or Chosen Eidolon, try and wipe your character clean of any stain of 20th century morality, and instead burn into them the tenants of you're chosen God. How much you then accept and respect the tenants of the other four, is rather upto you.*
I posted a more expansive (i.e rambling post on the matter on Will's thread a while back http://purgatory.myfreeforum.org/about15.html including an link to an excellent post by Matt P on the subject.
(*And no, you followers of the Heathen Idols don't count. :p )

How's the Kill team preparation going B'?

Kill team are named, kitted, statted and pointed at all the right threads.
Lou should be joining us part way through this event, and Paula at the next one. They are looking forward to it, and will be posting here as soon as they've played.
They don't have any backgrounds yet (but neither do I, really). We'll work something out after a while, I assume
Thanks for all the help and advice! I'm leaving for Maelstrom on tuesday night, so I'll hope to see you all there.

Awesome, I look forward to seeing them on the field. (Shame you can't all be active this event, but nevermind)
See you Friday.
