Preist ability questionI dont knwo if this is the right place or not but i spent the last DT enlightening a mortal and the skill they are learning is called Geas
Does anyone know what this is. As i dont want to look like a fool when she asks me IC what she is learning

Yep, I have a pretty good idea what it does, however... I'd ask PD instead, I'm not actually certain if the enlightening eidolon *should* know...
(When in doubt, use the official channels...)

The enlightening eidolon is not currently supposed to know what the skill that they're teaching does unless they have been told by the priest they are teaching.
also... Please don't tell us that kind of information, I now know (can infer) far more than I should.
(Looking up the dictionary definition of the single-word skill name often helps immensely.)

Some people in the system might know what that skill does already - but you would have to find them and talk to them in person in order to find out, I'm afraid. I think it's rather amusing, and rather cool, that an eidolon doesn't actually know the nature of the skill they are enlightening a mortal with!

Through one could make a case that eidolons should know what the priest tech tree looks like, because we have helped priests climb up it multiple times in our history.
Not say we should know what skill the priest is learning unless they tell us, but we should be able to recognise it if they do.
Also, I assume 'soulspeak' gives you knowledge of what words mean so you can use them? Soulspeak yourself and then you will know what Gaes means

Have we? I was actually under the impression that the non-standard priest skills are *new*, and perhaps never seen before. The big 4 (5?) are the previous (and the Fall being caused by sheer weight of prayers and supplications rather than any particular skill)
Btw, on irritating metaphysics questions... how exactly did the first mortal to we enlightened with initiated get devoted? :p

I asked matt about that years ago. Apparantly it's unknown how the first person became devoted. IIRC what he said, some people just were when we first entered the world.
