Easter Event 2010 - "Pantheon"

Hi, all you lovely spirit things

I am posting here as an OOC heads up for the event that the creeping loa and native tribes are hoping to hold next year. It will be a heavy god based event celebrating the native pantheon.

Part of the laws will be that all Eidelons MUST be given respect and revered as avatars of the Gods; if they have chosen to manifest MAJESTICALLY.

The idea here is that if you have chosen to manifest as a human with a bandana (and nothing wrong with that) then you are obviously trying to go "undercover" and so it can be expected that the mortals will not be able to treat you with respect and reverance.

It really is up to you what you think MAJESTIC means, but the idea is that people are in no doubt that you are bloody special..... in a good way Wink

Anyway, i would like to give you all loads of warning, so that you have plenty of time to "pimp" your kit if need be.

If anyone has any concerns please PM me to discuss, cheers.

Ah, mon. Baaaad timing- Papa can't make Easter.

Exalen on the event. I hope you get it.

Bow! on the no papa.

OOC info about Easter event

BTW - The idea is that ALL eidelons are considered avatars of the gods. The northern and southrtn alike. Loyal and Fallen.

Perhaps one of the main reasons for this OOC is that i know a lot of both loyal and fallen that are growing bored of the appear, mosh, die routine; as well as us puny mortals that see eidelons fighting and shrug our shoulders and walk on.

I fully understand the IC reasons, angels/demons etc, and there is nothing wrong with doing some less than obvious attacks (by this i mean supplications, rumours, talismantic cats that eat eidelon wings so they cant fly...oops thats foip!), rebel rousing and soul pacting, etc. Its just that we would like people, for one event to NOT think of fallen as the monster crew!
(this happened to the Sons of set, a very cool group, which brought a lot to the game, but just got plain bored of the constant attacking and have faded away)

The IC invite in septembers mail shot and the Easter invite should make the reasons nice and clear.

Two things:

Firstly, I advise you to carefully consider the IC consequences of offering any kind of protection to the fallen. People won't take it as an OC thing, even if those are your motivations.

Secondly, with your "please dont smite the fallen thing", effectively you're asking people not to play the brief PD have given them, not to play their character as they see it, because of your personal OC vision of what the game should be.

Were the sons of set cool? Yes they were. But they made too many enemies and got hit hard. They weren't the first group this happened to, and Im sure they won't be the last.

Being either truly immortal or very hard to permanently kill means just that, it doesn't grant some kind of special OC immunity from being attacked.

I very much have to echo Samahazai's points here.

There is no way in hell that you will get the Loyals to show any tollerance to the fallen or undead nor will most of the paladin-types.

You can write it into the event laws, but you will really not be able to enforce it.

On the other hand, the idea in general sounds cool, we've had our 5 gods-thing, another native festival should add a lot of flavour there.

Im not being pedantic Smile There are just over a handful of characters who have that brief. I think its leaning more to the fact that backing off is against "their characters" morals, standing or back ground.

"However anything is possible though" Smile

Yeah, fair point.

The Almanac and faith brief do have a fair few things to say on the topic as well of course, but I'd agree it isn't a significant part of the brief.

I think a lot of the truly strong feeling about fallen has developed in play.

In terms of hosting I do like the idea of a native event. Carnival was awesome.

As long as a balance is maintained then I see no problem with this.  however if there is too much sensless violence then as a messenger of the balance I will solve the problem in which ever way I need to.

Regal Manifestations

Ok, just to bump this up

We are still thionking about laws, and taking into account the IC considerationsd brough to our group at the last event.

However the idea of Majestic Manifestations is still solid, ie if you look like a mortal race then you are obviouslt indisguise and wish to be treated as a "normal"

If you wish to benefit from the "majestice" laws (ie people have to respect you and you are requested to ensure soul purity) then please try to ensure that your kit is suitabley majestic/demonic

cheers

Also thanks to all those that have expressed interst in the next event, we are already in the planning stages for what props we are to build and the IC documentation! We are trying to ensure that eidelons are central to our "plot"

I'm curious as to what will be considered sufficiently "magestic" and who is going to be doing the judging? - and how?

I don't have the benefit that some of the eidolons have of being either 6ft plus and imposing, or young, slim and beautiful, so what do I have to do to be "majestic"

My current "on a special mission" appearance is basically Valkerie form but if I'm just taking a generic imperative I tend to take a less formal form. I'm happy to appear with "spear and magic helmet" all the time - but is that enough?

Some guidelines, or examples of which forms you consider to qualify, would be useful, or do none of the current qualify because they are (nearly) all based on the mortal races?

Second this, some guidelines would be helpful?
