I have just joined this board. The only reason I knew there was one is because I've been on rule7 so much today that I ran out of stuff to read and read the web communities thread and went 'Oo!'
I've now seen that there have been 2 Eidolon player events in the past. I'd heard rumours of such a thing, but didn't realise it had actually been done. My question is, when is the next one? Can we have one this winter in order to break up the horribly long wait before the next 'Strom?
As far as I know, the eidolon player event never happened in the end.... though I may have been mistaken and missed something.
I'd be intereted if someone however the main logistical problem I had when I started the preliminary stages of planning on back in 2007 was trying to get the number of confirmed attendees up to a point where it would be economically viable.
With the current eidolon levels it maybe possible.

The way these things happen is that one person takes responsibility for organising them and makes it happen. I am not that person - I barely have the energy to do my job. If anyone feels like volunteering, now would be the time to speak up.
I don't see why it has to be one person. That's an awful lot of work for just one. I am happy to contribute some time and energy, though, if anyone is willing to join forces with me.
1) ISTR from previous discussion it has to be a Plot Event because PD need to have input into the set dressing of the Pocket
2) All we really need is e.g. a pub function room, as we don't need a big field or some woods or anything - so although accomodation for people not from the area in question will need to be thought about it doesn't have to be a scout camp (maybe we could find somewhere where people can provide floorspace or maybe people would be happy staying in a nearby Travellodge type place).
They will have to be happy with us bringing a load of set dressing and doing the place up though - does anyone have a venue they have a pre-existing relationship with they could convince to have us? (Or, y'know, a big front room they can spare for a weekend?)
3) I'm very happy to bounce ideas around but I have no craft skills and actually negative quantities of available time and energy at the moment . I can help out financially with backing the event and getting deposits etc paid though.

I'm pretty certain I could get Stock Wood (if people know it) if anyone was interested. Might even be able to blag it on the cheap/free depending on hold long people wanted the event to last and if they were up for some other silliness afterwards.
Known the guys that run it for more years than I care to admit. Pretty sure they'd let us have a slot there if we asked. It has a tavern type hut thats perfect for dressing anyway you'd want, also has an iron age village and loads of woodlands, but can't imagine we'd want that for anything.
I know they do works weekends to maintain the site every once in a while, so I doubt it would be beyond the realm of posibility that if people were up for helping with a little maintenance/DIY/forestry they'd let us have one of the huts in the evening for use of a game. They have something going off over halloween, which might be possible too. But I'd need to look into that one more, and talk to them - which I'm going to do this weekend, which is convenient
